What is Steampunk? Steampunk art and design uses the core principles of both STEAM and Victorian-era industrial style to reimagine, make, create (recreate), and infuse a vision of the Future and answers the question: "What would the past look like if the future had happened sooner?"

In this one hour presentation, Bruce Rosenbaum, who the Wall Street Journal dubbed "The Guru of Steampunk" will bring you through his inspirations and his own work to show you how he is able to create virtual time machines by fusing the past with the present and future.

Bicycle to Aeroplane: Change at the Turn of the Twentieth Century
In Bicycle to Airplane: Change at the Turn of the Twentieth Century, The Proper Ladies tell, and sing, of cars, bicycles, planes and suffrage from a period of impressive, and rapid, change.  Meet Harriet Quimby, writer, screenwriter and the first American woman to earn a pilot’s license who also became the first woman to fly solo across the English Channel.  Hear of the innovations in bicycle, motorcycle and automobile design that came out of The Waltham Manufacturing Co., first to add an engine to a bicycle.  And, sing the songs popular from the WWI era as we commemorate the 100th anniversary of the United States’ entering WWI.

The Proper Ladies, Anabel Graetz & Deborah Goss, shine a new light on the lives of the women of the period who were pioneers and who struggled for, and won, the right to vote.  Join us; sing with the familiar favorites, sigh to the rare gems; cheer for the women who paved the way for the freedom and enfranchisement of 20th and 21st century women.
